November Roadtrip in Namibia
8 days exploring Africa’s least-densely populated country
TRIP OVERVIEW
Join me on a 7 night / 8 day road trip through the world’s second-least densely populated country as we enjoy wildlife sightings on self-driving safaris, stargaze in the desert, and experience some of the most breathtaking landscapes our planet has to offer.
After convening in the Capital of Windhoek, we’ll pick up our camper trucks the next morning and head north for two nights in Etosha National Park, where we’ll enjoy a self-driving safari. We’ll stay within the National Park, giving us immediate access to Etosha’s varied wildlife, including rhinos, zebras, elephants, and giraffes.
With two nights in Etosha under our belt, we’ll venture southwest across the country to the coastal surfing town of Swakopmund, famous for its German architecture. En route we’ll spend a night in Spitzkoppe, a region of dramatic peaks dubbed as the Matterhorn of Namibia. Once in Swakopmund, we’ll do a sunset tour in Sandwich Harbor, where the sand dunes run straight into the Atlantic Ocean.
Our final chapter in Namibia takes us further south to the most iconic sight within the country: Sossusvlei. A park of salt & clay pan surrounded by high red sand dunes, Sossusvlei contains the famous site of Deadvlei, a collection of surreal dead trees emerging from the clay. After a full day exploring the park, we’ll make our way back to Windhoek before departing the following day.
